What is Radon?

Radon is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless radioactive gas that occurs naturally in the soil and rock. It can enter homes through cracks in the foundation, walls, or floors. Inhaling radon over time can increase the risk of lung cancer. The Florida Health Department website provides information on how to test your home for radon and reduce your exposure to it. It is important to take action if high radon levels are detected in your home.
